You probably don't realize but your story is incredible and you could save someone's life with it.
It's the same for me: My history is traumatic but I view the wisdom it gave me as a gift. A gift that I share with anyone who searches for it and you could do the same.
Blogging is an incredibly powerful tool to share advice, experience, and recommendations. You see it everywhere with travel tips, technical advice, and even cooking hacks!
When you "increase the stakes" away from blogging about functional topics and more towards blogging about mental illness, the benefits also increase. That's because what you write will allow you to process your feelings, discover a new passion (or career!?), stick to a healthy schedule, and even save someone else's life.
It is an incredibly powerful tool which I will share with you today. In this week's blog you will learn:
🙏 How to save someone's life with your words.
🙏 Why your story is infinitely more valuable than you realize.
🙏 How blogging will help you on your recovery journey.
🙏 How you can even save yourself through blogging.
🙏 You Could Save A Life
Your story is powerful. Whatever you've gone through to get here must have been pretty awful because you have C-PTSD. That means you've been exposed to repeated trauma over time. Whilst you may not realize how incredible it is that you've survived, I do.
That's because you have defeated the odds and come out on top. Not only did you survive but you're also doing something about it. I assume you're not on this blog by accident? I'm assuming that you want to recover from C-PTSD no matter what it takes. Many people don't do that! They take the easy route and continue the trauma cycle. What you're doing is incredible and it deserves to be shared!
Your knowledge could be life-saving. People who read blogs are searching for help, advice, or just someone to connect with. That person could also be contemplating suicide and when they read your blog, they change their mind. I know that's shocking, but it's true. There are stories of people like Nietzsche, a psychologist, who was on his way to commit suicide and only stopped because someone smiled at him. You never know what people need to hear in their hour of need and it might just be something you write.
You Could Save Your Own Life
Writing is processing. Yep, why do you think we journal? Often C-PTSD survivors can't verbalize their emotions and memories. That is why we try other techniques like "tapping" and journaling to process the trauma in our minds. A blog could provide the same outlet for you.
Schedules can save you. Ever been in a depressive rut and you can't seem to get out? Even leaving the bed is hard? Well, having something to look forward to or that you are expected to do on a weekly basis can be life-changing. Should you decide to take blogging seriously, it's a great way to work on a mini-project every week. That expectation creates a schedule and can help keep you pushing through recovery, rather than being unmotivated to turn your life around.
It might just be your future! Ever heard of people who "just said yes" and now their entire life has changed because of it? I once heard of an aspiring DJ who took up a job for a friend on the side which she didn't really want. Turned out that a top talent agent was there, signed her, and now she's a full-time DJ. That's cool.
Maybe you don't want to be a DJ but you could start blogging and have a real flair for it! Your words are powerful and your story is incredible. This may just be the ticket you're looking for.
